I want every student to walk into the IELTS exam knowing exactly what to expect and exactly how to show what they can do. So my IELTS lessons start with a diagnostic. We find where you're losing marks and work on those tasks first.
Book a PlacePractising past papers on your own will only get you so far. The IELTS exam tests very specific skills in very specific ways, and without targeted feedback you end up repeating the same mistakes. Most students I work with have already done plenty of practice. What they're missing is someone who can pinpoint exactly where the marks are being lost and show them how to fix it.
In every lesson, I work through exam-style tasks with you, breaking down exactly what the examiner is looking for. I give detailed, written feedback on your writing tasks and coach you through speaking practice so you build fluency and confidence. Whether you're aiming for Band 6 or Band 8, I adapt my approach to your current level and target score.
Get Started TodayI teach you how to manage your time across passages and how to spot the specific answer types IELTS uses. We work on skimming, scanning and inference so you stop running out of time and start picking up marks you're currently leaving behind.
Task 1 and Task 2 get very different treatment, and Task 1 differs again by version: Academic asks you to describe a chart, graph, diagram or process, while General Training asks for a letter. I show you exactly how to structure each response, how to hit the assessment criteria and how to avoid the common traps that keep students stuck at Band 6. I mark every piece of writing personally and give you specific, actionable feedback, no generic comments.
We work on prediction techniques, note-taking strategies and how to handle the different section formats. I help you identify which question types trip you up and we drill those specifically until they click.
I run full mock speaking tests and coach you on fluency, pronunciation and how to extend your answers naturally. We work on Parts 1, 2 and 3 separately so you know exactly how to approach each one, and I give honest feedback on where you're gaining and losing marks.
If your offer from a university in the UK, Australia, Canada or elsewhere depends on a specific IELTS Academic band score, I'll build your lessons around hitting that target. We focus on the modules and skills where you'll gain marks fastest.
Whether it's General Training for a visa application or Academic for professional registration, I tailor every lesson to the version of the test you're actually sitting.
If you've already sat the exam and didn't hit your target, I can look at your results and work out exactly where the marks are being lost. That's actually one of the biggest reasons students book IELTS tuition with me.
I make sure younger students understand the format, feel confident with the timing and know exactly what's expected in each module. No surprises on exam day.
Every student is different. Drop me a message and I'll help you work out the best path forward.
Send me a messageYes. I teach both versions and tailor every lesson to the one you're sitting. The reading and writing tasks are different across the two, so it's important we're practising the right format from day one.
We meet on Google Meet. I share exam-style tasks on screen, we work through them together and I give you feedback in real time. For writing tasks, I mark them between lessons and send you detailed written feedback so you know exactly what to improve.
It depends on your starting level and target score. Some students see significant improvement in 6–8 lessons; others prefer ongoing weekly sessions in the run-up to their exam. I'll give you an honest assessment after the first lesson.
Absolutely. If writing is the only thing holding you back, we can spend every lesson on that. I'll work with whatever you need most.
That's really common. I run full mock speaking tests so you get used to the format and timing. The more you practise under realistic conditions, the more natural it feels. I also coach you on strategies for when your mind goes blank: it happens to everyone, and there are ways to handle it well.
The listening and speaking modules are the same, but reading and writing are completely different. Academic reading uses longer, more complex texts. Academic Writing Task 1 asks you to describe data or a process instead of writing a letter. I make sure we're always practising the right format.
I do. I use a mix of official Cambridge IELTS materials and tasks I've put together based on what I see students struggling with. Everything is exam-standard and matched to the version you're sitting.
